On Patrol

My Sweet DH is out tonight. It's his first

"graveyard" shift. That's right, he leaves as I'm putting on jammies and washing my face, and he returns as I am sleepily making breakfast for the girls. I'm so proud of him for working so hard, but I'm so sad to miss him all night. There's something so sweet about having a warm sos (someone special) to put your cold foot on for comfort. I'll never forget all the lonely nights during boot camp when my only companion was the fear of being rudely awaken by a screaming RDC. I swore at that time that I would never take for granted the priveledge of having him near.. yes , even if the TV is on. I think tonight, I'm recommiting to that. These next few weeks will be stressful for Devan , and thus our family. He had the unluck of getting one of the grouchiest (to say it nicely) trainers in the Dept. DH is a stellar new officer, and I know that no matter what the obstacle he will overcome it.

So I'm off to rearrange the pillows. The doors are locked and I promise honey I'll turn the lights out... well, most of them anyway.

Being alone at night is the worse. But at least it's just for a short time!

You are too sweet! I know I can never get to sleep when DH is out playing late at night. Here's hoping the time goes by quickly!
